This exciting playlist features some of Scotland’s best female musicians in the traditional music scene! From older traditional sets to new arrangements influenced by other genres and everything in between. Balanced between the english and gaelic language, this playlist celebrates all the women that embrace scottish traditional music. It’s especially interesting to see newer bands like Heisk and Kinnaris Quintet exploring a whole new side of traditional music even though they’re still staying true to their traditions. Whilst they shape the future of traditional music, singers like Kathleen MacInnes and Rachel Walker keep those gaelic songs alive and heard. There’s something for everybody in this playlist!
